Strolling through a hilltop town is how we started the day. Setting off at 7am, Lucy having a quick "cafe con leche" and me "Te verde" = coffee and green tea.
We are beginning to think Spain is home to the vampire as every Spanish town is absolutely deserted bar the token 1 person in the bakery, and usually a lone kid kicking a soccer ball.
Alternatively we have a head start on what to expect post apocalypse.
Swallows are everywhere in Spain. Spreading their wings and sweet songs of joy! The happiest bird on the planet by far!
Today was short, 20ks short. At one small town cafe we conversed with an Italian woman from Valencia. Though she spoke no English nor us Italian, I'm pretty sure we agreed to a house swap sealing the deal with a handshake. Little does she know the only house I own is in Hamilton. (Or lock up).
We passed through "Estella" and enjoyed the park for lunch, walking on into the heat of the day. Leaving Estella we found the famous "Fuente del vino" yes this is a free flowing red wine fountain. The only thing taken here of course was a photo.
As with most days we stop when our bodies tell us, and today it happened to be when we stumbled upon a camping ground full of chalets and even a POOL!
I was in quicker than I could get down to my makeshift bikini (undies and bra). Such relief from the bondage of socks in the heat!!
After giving Lucy a haircut with my nail scissors, and playing a game of dress up in my head buffs as skirts and tops in our trailer park accommodation we have retired for the night.
I think the locals are sometimes confused and sometimes amused by our antics.
25ks tomorrow to Torres del Rio.
Amused and confused, choice as sister. That pool must have a been a treat. Lucy's hair looks lurvely!
